Upload results to Movemint using a CSV file

About CSV results

Organizers and timers can upload results for an event with a CSV file. When uploading results to Movemint using a CSV, upload each sub-event as a separate CSV. The title of the CSV will be the name of the result on the event page. For example, if you upload a CSV with the title, "5k", this is what will show as the header of the result. You can edit the name of your CSV in the results tool.

Each results file should correspond to a single event (e.g., 5k). For multiple sub-events, upload separate results files for each (e.g., one for 5k, another for 10k). For events with multiple heats or a wide range of finishers, use the "Reupload Results" feature to maintain the results name and links while updating data.

How to Upload Results Using CSV

1

Upload your CSV file

Now when uploading results, a new drawer-style interface opens instead of a simple file upload. Timers upload a CSV file that includes standard timing fields such as bib number, name, gender, age, division, splits, and other timing data.

2

Map Columns

The system uses smart column mapping to detect and match CSV columns to the required fields by recognizing common column names and aligning them accordingly, which reduces the amount of manual setup needed during the upload process.

3

Configure Results

During the upload process, you can configure the distance and split information for results. Each upload is associated with a specific distance category (for example, a 3-mile race), ensuring that results are correctly tied to the appropriate event distance.

4

Configure splits

Timers can also define multiple split checkpoints, such as split markers or mile markers.

Once created, the split can be synced with the appropriate column in the CSV file. Split names initially default to the column names from the CSV but can be renamed for clarity, and this split data is used to support pacing insights and position analysis within the results.

Note: The finish time (from the clock time or chip time column) is automatically added as the final split.

5

Handle Divisions

If you map a column to "Category / Division", those values will be used as custom divisions. Otherwise, standard age/gender divisions are applied automatically. Overall and overall-gender (male, female, and non-binary) categories will be created, but age-group categories will not.

Note: Once you save your upload and column headers, that setup becomes the default for that distance. Timers will also benefit from iterative results uploads, as column mappings are saved from the first upload for faster updates.
